So, these are some of THE BEST I've ever read. Some are from here on DA (feel proud if you're here) some are off-site.
all have ratings and descriptions.
Sherlock can't sleep. It's all John's fault. Moments from the private lives of John and Sherlock-Extending from their childhoods to present day...[20 short chapters]
~PG (-13)~ slash. A 'we've woken up naked in bed' scene. Tame otherwise.
Well-written, very nice hurt/comfort between Sherlock and John and vice versa.Spasms and Emu Oil[link]
John is all prepared to pick a fight with Sherlock when it turns out Sherlock has serious back pain. Pre-slash, barely.
~PG~ Hints of pre-slash. Shirtless SH. Tame.
Again, well-written, completely believeable and in-character.Love at First Sight[link]
Sherlock is obsessed and tells Mrs. Hudson all about Dr. John Watson the day before John comes to see the flat. All he wants to do is impress him.
~PG~ Pre-slash. Tame.
Very nice view of Sherlock's POV in Study in Pink. Mrs. Hudson's and SH's relationship is very good.Only Human[link]
Five times Sherlock shows a weakness in front of John, accidentally proving he's human.
~PG-13~ Slash. A breif sex moment and further indications.
I LOVE this author (meaning there will be a few more of her on here, yes). This is one of many nice little Sherlock stories. Even ingoring slash bits (which I tend to do), this is fantastic. Good handle on characters. The Adventure of the Homemade Meth[link]
A trip to the supermarket means stocking up on snacks and essentials for John and cracking down on a meth production ring for Sherlock. Naturally.
~PG~ (slash if you squint). Contains mentions of a drug.
Very Funny and in character of a typical day of shopping with Sherlock Holmes. Not Even Half-Time[link]
~PG~ Pre-slash. An explosion.
Set Straight after the fade-to-black at the end of the Great Game. 'How they escape the pool 'theorising.
Very funny. The ending makes it.Just a Minor Peerage[link]
~PG~ Arguing Holmeses...hints of Slash. Tame, as they go.
A will stipulates whichever Holmes brother marries first inherits the baronetcy and neither wants it.
Very funny and interesting. And hugely in character, How SH and MH play off each other. I normally don't go for the 'Rich Holmes Estate' Thing, but this made it work. The Second Law of Thermodynamics[link]
~PG-13~ Slash. Involves Sherlock and John, in bed, together.
There's no heating and there's a dead owl in Sherlock's bed.
It is a situation which would happen at flat 221b...Sherlock not fixing the heater...John helping him 'un-freezing. slash, and I guess a realistic one at that.Who wants to be Normal, Anyway?[link]
~PG-13~ Definite slash.
Sherlock and John's 'normal' faltmate life, and denied homosexuality.
In character, very much so. As I always read these, squinting and trying to avoid the slash, but it does fit in very well. Without a Goodbye[link]
A post-Reichebach Fall Sherlock Texts Mycroft. Mycroft is confronted about a lack of 'goodbyes'.
In character, even when it comes to a child Sherlock and teenage Mycroft. Not the most believeable explaination of their great fued, but still nice.On the Care of Sherlock Holmes[link]
~PG~ Mentions 'illeagal substances'.
Mycroft has a task for a new Inspector Lestrade, the care of Sherlock Holmes.
Very nice dialogue between these two men. This Caring Lark[link]
~PG~ Violence (mentions of).
Canon Holmes and Watson after the touching events of 3GAR (3 Garridebs).
Very good depiction of Holmes caring for Watson.Boxing Holmes[link]
John catches Sherlock 'boxing' in the flat...and is amazed.
Very good, something I would have loved to see in the series.A Fragile Life[link]
~PG~ A hurt/dying bird.
Young Sherlock finds a dying bird...
Very nice and short. And believeable.Fortune Cookies[link]
~PG~ slash/Pre-slash. Tame.
What starts out as inoccent Chinese soon turns into Sherlock being nice. John tries to deduce the motive.
Funny bit with the fortune cookies. My friends have oft mentioned the 'in bed' bit. Three Years of Flowers[link]
John gets flowers and mysterious gifts the three years post Sherlock's 'death'.
I think that this was written before the actual FALL episode, but it fits in very well. Very nice, I like the thought that Sherlock would apologise for his 'death'.Bloody Knees[link]
~PG~ Contains a slightly bloodied Sherlock.
Sherlock scrapes his knee and John tends to his 'wound'.
Nice senario. Pre-slash.Sent at Midnight[link]
John is having nightmares, and Sherlock asks what he can do to help.
Well written short fic. Nice John/Sherlock interaction.Five Years Prior[link]
~PG-13~ Contains drug/substance abuse.
Five years prior to the events of Study in Pink, Lestrade meets Sherlock Holmes.
Very nicely played out. Younger Sherlock is very believeable, as is a softer Lestrade.Somniphobia[link]
Sherlock can't sleep, and he doesn't want to admit why.
This is a great explaination for sherlock's drug abuse/insomniac tendencies. Orange Juice[link]
~PG~ Alcohol, hints of slash.
John has a hangover and Sherlock tries to help as best as he can.
Nice sherlock being nice fic. Scars[link]
~PG-13~ Contains mentions of violence/torture.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of shadows. A reminiscence of the events of Die Forelle.
Very good, and a good grasp on the characters.Sherlock-Santa[link]
Young sherlock Holmes tells Mycroft how exactly he deduced that Santa does not exist.
Very nice, believeable senario. Three Times Sherlock Chose a Case Over John, and the First Time He Didn't[link]
~PG~ Pre-slash/Slash indications
Sherlock chooses cases over John until...
Very nicely written, good moments of Sherlock and John. Again, for those who don't slash, it's still very enjoyable. Two's Company[link]
Sherlock and John sneak into a church ruin and have an interesting encounter.
Paranormal or not, slash or not, this is a wonderful fic of Sherlock and John sharing a moment. The Shape I Found You In[link]
~PG~ (I think) Slash.
sherlock is away on a case. He and John miss each other. Texting and emails ensue.
(I sort of borrowed the title for one of my fics. 'The Shape I left you in' was mine.)
